Private Lessons FAQ

What is the tuition?

30-minute lessons: $160/month

45 minute lessons: $240/month

60 minute lessons: $320/month

Monthly rates are based on 4 lessons per month and may vary with calendar irregularities or holidays.

Do I need to take weekly lessons?

To develop skill on a new instrument, the practical answer is yes, weekly lessons are ideal. A weekly schedule will be treated as the default. We can discuss alternative schedules only for more established students, composition students, or students with alternate or niche musical goals.

When and where are recitals?

Recitals are offered twice a year, around November and May. Locations vary, but they will always be held at a performance venue in the Round Rock area and announced two months in advance.

Adult students who want practice performing are invited to an ongoing "Music and Mingle" series, hosted at various houses in the Round Rock/Georgetown area.

Is participation in recitals required?

No, participation in recitals is not required. While students are encouraged to try performing at least once, many choose to attend lessons and play for their own enjoyment, which is a perfectly legitimate way to learn music!

Is participation in performance evaluations through RCM or ABRSM required?

No, participation in these evaluations in completely optional.

Can I work on composition and/or music theory in lessons, alongside piano?

Yes! In fact, composition and theory are excellent ways to contribute to a well-rounded music education. Students are encouraged to pursue these topics in lessons, and Keith will work with them to develop a curriculum.
