Dr. Keith Allegretti
Dr. Keith Allegretti is a private piano, composition, and music theory instructor with over ten years of experience in the greater Austin area. Whether you are a hobbyist or an aspiring professional musician, Keith will provide foundational knowledge about musical style, theory, and performance practice, tailored to your specific tastes and goals. In lessons, he typically guides students through drills focusing on clean technique and musical expression.
Keith welcomes all students of all backgrounds and skill levels. Many begin lessons with no prior experience and are exposed to optional performance opportunities at a pace that matches their comfort level. In addition to performing in recitals twice every year, many of his students have completed performance evaluations through the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) and The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), as well as performing in ABRSM's High Scorer's Concert.
Keith also has a soft spot for the more creative side of music education. His composition students have been multiple times by the Austin Symphony Young Composer's competition and Austin's Golden Hornet Young Composers Collective. Others have gone on to attend renowned festivals and universities, including Interlochen Center for the Arts, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Rice University, and the University of Texas at Austin.
