Chamber Music January
Starting in 2027, Keith will be partnering with Ben Tibbetts of Meadow Lake Music (meadowlakemusiclessons.com) for an exciting new program called Chamber Music January. Through this month-long workshop, students are exposed to collaborative playing, along with the crucial musicianship lessons it provides: keeping time, listening to a group, reacting expressively in the moment, and building interpersonal skills. Rather than playing only on your own, you participate in a musical "conversation" by with others in an ensemble setting.
Who can join?
All student instrumental musicians are welcome, on any instrument and at any level. We especially encourage piano students who also play a band or orchestral instrument to join. Piano-only students are welcome too! Repertoire and custom arrangements will be tailored to each group's instruments and experience. We'll both play piano alongside the groups during rehearsals to support ensemble skills and musical confidence.
What does it include?
The $290 fee includes four weekly one-hour rehearsals, custom arrangements, a masterclass on Sunday, February 7, 2027, from 6:30–8:30 p.m., and recordings of all pieces.
When are the rehearsals?
Each group will meet for one hour weekly for four weeks in January 2027. Final groups and weekly times will be based on availability. Here are the options:
Keith / Tuesdays: January 5, 12, 19 and 26 — one hour within 4–7 p.m.
Keith / Thursdays: January 7, 14, 21 and 28 — one hour within 4–7 p.m.
Ben / Saturdays: January 9, 16, 23 and 30 — 10–11 a.m., noon–1 p.m. or 3:30–4:30 p.m.
